Hostels Melbourne
In most hostels you will be sharing with people not of your choosing so it may be a good idea to keep your valuables on you at all times (wallet, phone, etc.), as they are a bit of a target and may tend to go walkabout at short notice. Meals as a rule are not included but you may have access to a community kitchen and fridge. You can pay rent on a daily or weekly basis and a key deposit will have to be paid. Take a good look at their refund policy before committing to much cash. They will in most cases accept cheques from service providers but will laugh at personal cheques. Try to keep your rent up to date as they will evict at short notice regardless of your circumstances. You will receive rent assistance from Centrelink but not as much as if you would be renting.
All care is taken to maintain correct phone numbers but they change, some on a regular basis.
